Abstract
This seminar will introduce a new algorithm to design dynamic networks to respond to external stimuli in a desirable manner. In addition to ensuring controllability of all nodes from benign inputs, the proposed algorithm guarantees robustness of selected nodes against disturbances. For a given set of control nodes, the proposed algorithm selects the network interconnection structure and the edge weights so that each network state can be controlled by a control input with pre-specified energy. The theory behind the algorithm is to ensure the controllability Gramian of the network to be diagonal. Necessary and sufficient conditions for diagonal Gramians of linear dynamic networks are proposed.
